Schade drum, siehe oben all die Versuche...
Watson: "I am wondering why we are following this man."
Holmes: "Why would you say that, I wonder."
Watson:" Well, as we look at him in the fog I am beginning to wonder if he is not a complete fraud or worse .. a fool maybe."
Holmes: " Are you sure of that? I wonder why that is so ..."
Watson: "He seems to play the photographer, but what is he taking pictures of; there is nothing there - as you and I can well see. This might just be a cover for him, though, and .."
Holmes: "Why a cover and cover for what I pray."
Watson: " Well if he were just pretending then he cannot be our man, can he?"
Holmes: "That question is what we must be sure about ... before we can decide to let him go and stop wondering about him."
Watson: " Do we agree then that he cannot be a photographer of nothing and still be a photographer..."
Holmes: " I cannot quite agree with that assessment."
Watson: "Why?"
Holmes: " I can agree with you in one part: he may be fool, a dupe for whom we have fallen in this extraordinary and difficult case, or .... or - just to think about it hypothetically - he may be the extrardinarily gifted photographer that we are looking for, the one who takes pictures even in fog and makes them sing ... I just cannot yet decide. ---
What do you, Watson, think we should do to decide which is which here. I'd hate to give up his trail now; what if he were our extraordinary photographer, just think of how that could help us here .."
Watson: " You have put it again most clearly - what might he be photographing then and why?"
Holmes: " How about you step up to the spot from where he took these pictures and see what there might be to see. If you can make out anything in this horrendous shifting fog, please try to examine that evidence further, if you can.
As he is gone now: the scene is all yours ... good luck, Watson!
And I am off to visit the photogaphy shops in town for further leads. We will meet again for lunch at ..."
